Ron Morgan’s Famous Ahi/Ono Poke (Everyone’s Favorite!)
Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh fish (Ahi or Ono, cut into ½” cubes)
- ½ – ¾ cup soy sauce (start with ½, adjust to taste)
- ¾ cup chopped green onion
- 1–2 tablespoons sesame oil (start with 1, adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
Cooking Directions:
- Cut the fish into ½-inch cubes and place in a mixing bowl.
- Add ½ cup soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, and 1 tablespoon rice vinegar. Gently toss to coat.
- Mix in the chopped green onion. Taste and adjust with more soy sauce or sesame oil if needed.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor).
- Stir gently before serving.
Serving Suggestions:
- Over steamed rice
- With crispy wonton chips or seaweed salad
- Garnish with sesame seeds or jalapeños for extra heat
